Dr. Nicole Wright is an Associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She earned her Doctorate in Epidemiology and Master of Public Health from the University of Arizona. Her research focuses on musculoskeletal epidemiology, osteoporosis outcomes research, and racial disparities in osteoporosis and its management. She has been an investigator on numerus federal and industry supported research projects included projects, including those evaluating the role a myriad of risk factors related to bone mineral density and fractures, improving osteoporosis knowledge and patient activation, and creation and validation of administrative claim-based algorithms of osteoporosis related outcomes. She is well published in prominent bone journals, and has been the recipient of numerous research and service awards. She is a new Board of Trustee member of the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation.
