Cathleen Colón-Emeric, MD, MHS is Professor of Medicine, Chief of the Division of Geriatrics, Associate Dean for Research Mentoring, and a Senior Fellow for the Center for Aging and Human Development at Duke University.Dr. Colón-Emeric received her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine, a chief residency, a Masters of Health Science in clinical research, and a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Duke University.She is a clinical researcher focusing on fracture prevention in older adults, particularly after hip fracture and in the long-term care setting.Her current funded projects include a randomized trial of health services interventions to improve osteoporosis care for men, development and testing of an Injury Liaison Service for Nursing Homes, and translational studies of Physical Resilience in older adults after acute illness or injury.She is the recipient of several research awards including a Brookdale Foundation Fellowship and a Paul B. Beeson award from the National Institutes of Health.
