Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Lead Nurse Planner for the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation
Amy E. Mitchell, MSN, FNP-C, CCD is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner based in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee and then went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She is also a Certified Clinical Densitometrist.
Amy helped start and build a robust fracture liaison service (FLS) for 8 years, and now is focused on educating patients and providers about the importance of healthy bones and reducing fracture risk. She serves as the Lead Nurse Planner for the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF) as well as on the Ambassadors Leadership Counsel for BHOF. She serves as a consultant and speaker to the pharmaceutical industry too. Amy is deeply passionate about osteoporosis education and bone health. She enjoys reading, meteorology, college football, and stays busy raising 2 boys (Andrew & William) with her husband, Camron.
